The 2025 Casablanca Marathon: a new era for a major sporting event

Le full programme of the 16th edition of the Casablanca Marathon was presented on Wednesday evening at the Kaan hotel by the Association des Coureurs du Grand Casablanca (ACGC). Just over a month before the race scheduled for Sunday 26 October 2025, the organisation has a clear ambition: to elevate Casablanca to the rank of the great running capitals.

An organisation driven by runners, for runners

Created at the initiative of the City Hall and the Wilaya, the ACGC is a 100% volunteer association composed of running and sports event organisation experts. For its first year of mandate, the management team places the athlete at the heart of the experience, based on rigorous, human-centred organisation aligned with international standards (AIMS, World Athletics, FRMA).

An ambitious, inclusive edition turned towards the city

Three formats will be on offer: a full marathon (42.195 km), a half-marathon (21.097 km) and a relay marathon in teams of four runners. The 2025 course, certified AIMS / World Athletics, guarantees performance validation and will welcome between 8,000 and 10,000 participants across the three events.

Completely redesigned, the route will offer a crossing of Casablanca's iconic neighbourhoods, enhanced by exceptional musical entertainment (nearly 20 festive zones) and a spotlight on the urban heritage.

Concrete new features to enhance the runner experience

  • Live tracking of runners via a dedicated application.
  • Secure bag storage service and optimised start waves.
  • Reinforced medical system: 12 ambulances, 13 first aid stations, 4 mobile resuscitation teams, 100 toilets distributed along the course.
  • Course certified AIMS / World Athletics for performance validation.

The marathon village, accessible four days before the race, will become a living space mixing entertainment, stands, DJ sets, food trucks, running awareness and solidarity actions.

A structuring event for Casablanca

Beyond sporting performance, the Casablanca Marathon positions itself as a driver of:

  • tourism and economic impact;
  • an image of openness and dynamism for the city;
  • civic mobilisation, with more than 1,000 volunteers and service providers involved.

Committed to an eco-responsible approach, the organisation relies on local sponsors and service providers to ensure the sorting and recycling of materials used. Working with volunteers, associations and young people of the city, it makes the marathon a collective, responsible adventure rooted in its territory.

Towards a reference marathon at regional level

L'ACGC aims for 20,000 participants within three to five years, including at least 5,000 marathon runners. The objective: to position Casablanca as a reference on the Mediterranean, African and European stages.

« "The 2025 Casablanca Marathon is not just a race. It is a popular celebration, and a city project that combines sport, culture, tourism and living together."
